Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

revocation

I am currently engaged and getting married to a man that is paying child support for a child that he doesnt see. From what I know he pays child support, health insurance, and 90% of medical bills for the child. The mother of the child does not let him see the child. They tried to schedule visitation in the first couple weeks when the custody papers were signed, but she always canceled on him and never let him stay with the child alone. In addition, when the child was born the mother did not want him to sign the birth certificate. He did sign it, but the mother then a month or two after the child was born later tried removing him from the certificate. A few months later after the child was born the mother moved out, due to reconcilable differences. The mother then presented him with paternity papers to pay child support, etc. He has not seen the child in over a year. He continues to pay child support. At this time I believe my fianc was not in the right state of mind signing the paper work and I am led to believe that this child could possibly not be biologically his. What can I do? Unfortunately this will financially burden us if this is not straightened out now. Does he have a case to revoke child support?

Re: revocation

There is no way to answer your question based on these facts. Is there any evidence that the child isn't his?

Re: revocation

He needs to take charge of the situation and request a DNA test if he does not believe the child is his. Paying child support is a separate issue than child visitation, and if he wants visitation and the mother isn't cooperating, then he needs to seek a court order. Only he can take charge of his life, not you.
