Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Rights
I have been married to my husband for almost 14 yrs. He has 3 grown children from a previous marriage and their relationship is strainned and very distant. They do not like me and have nothing to do with us (me and our children) whatsoever. Recently my husband had a minor procedure done and when they accidently got news of it they suddenly wanted to be involved by bullying me and taking over my role as a wife. God forbid my husband ever have anything major done as I could not handle the stress of these grown kids making my life miserable. My husband does not have a close relationship with them nor do they even visit him so it feels strange for us both to have these kids suddenly want to be the decision makers during such a delicate time. What kind of documents can we (he) make up stating his wishes so in the event something serious ever does happen these kids understand their ''role'' in any decision making?

Re: Rights
You and your husband each need a DESIGNATION OF HEALTH CARE ADVOCATE. I also suggest updating your wills, living wills and trusts.
Re: Rights
You need a health care directive. Such directives are now normally part of making a will. William S. Stern
