Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

If i have no rights do I still pay Child support?

My ex is trying to take all of my parental rights away. Good for her. My question is, if I am legally not allowed to see him, and not his father since she can apply for me to be removed from the birth certificate do I still have to pay her child support? She is not having an adoption she is just trying to sever my rights to our child. Can she do that?

If your parental rights are terminated, whether by the mother/court or by adoption, then you no longer have a child support obligation. however, you would still have to pay any past due child support balance (arrearage).

if you do not want your rights terminated, then you should oppose her petition and appear for all court hearings.
