How to become Secondary Parents

Some friends of mine have asked me & my wife to become Secondary Parents to their Baby and I need to know what is the procedure for this and what kind of forms would we need to fill out?

Whta does Secondary Parents consist of and what is their function?

I haven't heard this term but I am sure it means that if they both are unable to serve as parents, like in a crash that kills both of them, then you would be the parents. These arrangements are always subject to the approval of the probate court. The test is waht is best for the kids. William S. Stern
