Serving Papers

My husband and I are in total agreement with our divorce. I read that when I file the papers, a person has to service my husband his copy. Is this a requirement? Can we go together to file the papers? Is there any way to get around this?

You can get around the service requirement. When you file it, the summons has a spot on it for your husband to sign. Just have him sign that he received the papers and you are all set. Bill Stern
