Can a divorce settlement be filed seprate from a divorce being finalized? In an open court?

Your "settlement" is not incorporated into the court record until your judgment of divorce is entered. The settlement is part of the judgment of divorce. The only other way that this could be done is if there is a an action for separate maintenance filed. In that case, you don't get divorced but you have your property rights addressed. William S.
