Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Please help! Show Cause hearing coming up for denying parenting time

My boyfriend has a 2 yr. old daughter with whom he has visitation rights every other weekend. The court has ordered that the Standard Parenting Time Policy be followed and that transportaion shall be provided 50/50 (the mother lives approximately 150 miles away). She has never helped in the transportation, and has recently denied him visitation 3 times. Also, he has been recording phone conversations with her, and she recently thought she hung up her phone but did not, and proceeded to call him a ''fu**ing prick'' while his daughter was talking in the background. The friend of the court has done nothing so far, but in a letter he wrote to them recently he basically demanded that she be held in contempt and that they do something about the transportation order not being followed as well as her comments in front of the child. He has written over 10 letters to the FOC so far about the unfair situation, but to no avail. A Show Cause Hearing is coming up on the 10th, and he is going but is not sure what to expect. The mother has recently plead guilty to Domestic Assault, to which his daughter was a witness. What can be done concerning change of custody in the upcoming hearing and how can he ensure a proper penalty for the denials?

It sounds like he is doing everythng right except not hiring a decent lawyer. That's what I'd do if it were my kid. William S. Stern

At some point your boyfriend might come to understand that he really isn't accomplishing much without being represented by an attorney. I think he'd be MUCH FARTHER AHEAD if he would hire an experienced and aggressive attorney to protect his rights and those of his daughter. What county is his case in? [email protected]
