Even if it not mentioned in a divorce settlement, a divorced spouse can get benefits on a former spouse's social security record if the marriage lasted at lease 10 years. The divorced spouse has to be 62 or older and unmarried. A divorced spouse can start collecting benefits between the age of 50 - 60 if they are disabled.
