Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

My son was in an altercation with his "then" girlfriend (she was drunk, in his face, and he shoved her). A week later the police came to his house, put him in handcuffs, took him to the station where he then spent 41 hours in a holding tank. He never received any Miranda Rights, fingerprints, or any paperwork. He did go in front of a judge and was released (after pleading not guilty to domestic violence) under a $500 bond (papers list the plaintiff as the State). He has been appointed a public defender, but we'd like to know what is actually happening here and what we can expect to happen.

You can have him ask the public defender, or you can assist him to hire private counsel. AS the old adage goes, you get what you pay for, and this is a serious case. I would be happy to consult with you or him about the matter. Regards, Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
