Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

State to State with no custody order.

I am currently in Michigan. My entire family plus my sons father lives in Michigan. I came out here 3 months ago to handle some family business (deaths and illnesses), now it's time to return to Washington, where my son was born and where we've been living for the last 7 years. My sons father has never had contact with my son unless my son is in Michigan or I've made arrangements and paid for these visits. Even if I'm a legal resident of another state, yet have been in Michigan, can my sons father contest to our returning?

Anyone can contest anything. If he files anything in Michigan you will immediately need a lawyer. My number is 248-353-9400. As far as his ability to succeed, it is doubtful if the living arrangement has been as you indicate for the past 7 years, unless you left in violation of some court order. If he doees not file, just go back to Washington.
