Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Which State hasJuristiction?

My husband was divorced in PA.

As of 2003 a new order re: custody, support, parenting time etc in which he was awarded joint legal custody was completed in MI. His x-wife (PA resident) has hid his daughter from him off and on over 4 years. He has just found out that last year a custody hearing took place in PA without his knowledge or notification. Because his x-wife was hitting his daughter, custody was awarded to his x-s grandparents. My husband has been paying child support through FOC and is and has been current on all payments. Even though his xwife no longer has custody she is still receiving and cashing these checks. The juvenille division of the PA court stated that the grandparents claimed my husband was MIA and they had no way to get a hold of him therefor, they awarded custody to the grandparents. Even though FOC and PA Domestic Relations have all of our contact info. What do we do and please don't just say contact an attorney. Thank You

Let me understand this right. You don't know how to practice law. You don't know how to proceed. You don't even know which state has jurisdiction. You're on the internet asking about a complex legal issue from people you've never even met, and you don't want to be told to contact an attorney, right? OK, since you don't want that very good advice, my next best option is for you to go to law school so you can do a better job of representing your husband. Then you won't need to contact a lawyer.

Sorry, but the best advice I can give you is to contact an attorney in Pennsylvania. This on-line forum is for general legal questions, not for legal advice for complex legal issues such as your husband's. An attorney cannot not ethically give you the answers you are seeking in this manner.

Good luck.
