state verses power of attorney

my close friend got into some trouble and gave me power of attorney of her children.these children are like my own ive known themsince theywere babys.cps petitioned to take thekids away from her.they came and took them from mebecause im not blood related but Im closer to them than any of their blood relatives.what can i doto get them back in my care they say their doingwhats best forthe kids but they sent to strangers.I gave them a good stable homeand their mother was beginnig to bondwith them again.what can i do?I love these kids very much they arestill just babies thiscant be goodfor them emotionally thank you
