Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Does a step parent have visitation rights if the father is out of town?

Our summer visitation schedule has been set. I recently found out that during two of my daughters scheduled weeks with her father, he will not be there. Do I still have to let my daughter go with her stepmom? My daughter is eight and has said that she does not want to go if he is not going to be there. Do step parents have any legal rights in this type of situation? Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. (Isabella county)

The step mother has no standing to complain about anything. Make a motion to eliminate the summer visitation on the basis that he will not be there. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
