Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

My step son was just taken in for a psychiatric evaluation and his mother won't tell his father anything, including where he is. What can he do?

A lot boils down to whether he has joint legal custody or not. if so, he is entitled to all the information, etc. Look at the judgment of divorce or custody documents.
