Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Suspending/terminating parental rights of a convicted drug felon
My son is 9 yrs. old. In 1998 his father was awarded visitation rights in the event that he does not use or be around any form of alcohol or drugs. In 2000 he tested positive 5 times (that we know of) for cocaine and marijuana. He never showed for court and parental rights were suspended until further order. Since than he has been in prison and county jail. Now, in 2004 he is fighting to have his visitation rights back and to have all of his arrearages deleted due to incarceration. What are the chances he will win this case and what are some laws that can protect my child?

I do not believe his arrearages will be deleted because his behavior was voluntary. Any visitation, will be supervised. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
