Teenage Rape

If a eighteen or nineteen year old male has sexual intercourse with a sixteen year old girl can the parents file any charges against the male? Is this Rape of a minor? What if the girl does not consent and what if the girl does consent?

A rape accusation has very serious consequences in Michigan. Even a false accusation can be devastating. I think it important that we talk.

Having said that, the age of consent in Michigan is 16. Therefore, if the 16 year old consented, that would be a defense.
