Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

temporary custody grandchild

my sister has been in alot of trouble and my mom has been taking care of her 7 yr old son. my sister is now a fugitive on the run and my mom wants to get temporary custody of him but is concerned about the cost and cannot afford a lawyer. she is financially capable of taking care of him but does not have the kind of money it takes for a lawyer. is there any help available for her? she resides in michigan and my sister and nephew are from ohio. all she wants is for her grandson to have a normal, happy life. please respond asap.

Has she asked a family law attorney "the kind of money it takes for a lawyer"? It is not likely that she is qualified to practice law on her own and she should find a way to hire an attorney just like she'd find a way to hire a doctor if she or the boy were ill.
