Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

I'm trying to have an uncontested divorce and stay friends with my soon-to-be ex, and I thought having a lawyer would make things easier, but this guy made things worse. He told me it was 'normal' and pressured me into filing a mutual ex parte temporary restraining order, which blind-sided and highly offended my wife and generally handling my case in a way that is causing contention between us. On top of that, he 'served' her via regular, non-certified mail, and I paid him for it. I want to withdraw the ex parte order and fire him, but I keep hearing it'll cost me money. Would it be cheaper for us to have her hire a lawyer, and just have mine agree to the judgements we agree upon, or to fire him? And can I withdraw the ex parte order? It is unnecessary and I don't want it.

This is taking place in Michigan

The attorney works for you. Bottom line of course you can fire him. Feel free to contact me for more information. Communication between you and your attorney is paramount. It appears you are not on the same page. Feel free to contact my office.
