Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
My wife told me last thursday that she filled for divorce and she left the marital home about a week ago. She told me Saturday that she will be getting a apparment so she wont beable to pay the bills and everything like she did when she lived here. She normal pays more because I pay for insurance for her. We also have a child that is one and a half years old. The place we live is kinda like a apparment but its a house split upstairs and downstairs but its only month to month. The gas and energy bills are in her name and the apparment is in both are names but its only month to month. So just dont know what to do beacuse I cant afford this place on my own. So did I just have to find a new place to live now that I can afford.

Generally speaking, answer the complaint and request a "status quo" order (compell making mortgage payments and other necessary expenses). There are other complicated issues anytime you have children involved. Feel free to contact me on my alternate number for more information.
You shouldn't do anything before you meet with an experienced family law attorney. You didn't provide enough information for any attorney to give you adequate advice, Because you have a young child, you need to be certain that everything is done to protect that child and your relationship. Call an attorney in Port Huron as soon as possible. Make sure their law practice focuses on family law.
