Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

I am 16 years old and got caught stealing a $3.00 product. I know it was stupid and I regret it. The store is prosecuting me. What will be my most likely penalty. I have never been charged for anything and a good student in school. Will this stay on my record forever?
