Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Attorney Fees

My attorney has filed a ciivil complaint requesting a judgement against me for his fees that just were just resolved by way of arbitration. 6 months ago, he tried to get an attorneys lien,( while still in arbitration). it was denied and the judge noted that payment arrangements would be appropriate once a figure was reached from the abritration. I am on disability. He also filed a lien on marital property without obtaining a judgement from the court which he has removed. 2 questions. 1. Can I ask the court to sanction the attorney for placing the improper lien?

2. Is the 2nd complaint he filed considered a new transaction in regards to the 1st complaint asking for an attorneys lien? on the complaint he checked the box stating there has been no other pending or resolved civil action arising out of the same transaction or occurence alleged in complaint.

Since both are in regards to his fees. Both were filed in Circuit court.

Different Judges.

Re: Attorney Fees

If you did not pay the arbitration award, he must go to circuit court to get a judgment to enforce the award. It sounds like that is what he's doing and it is proper.
