Auto Purchase Question

I bought a car from a guy. I tried to drive it home and it broke down. He tried to repair it. I couldn't drive it home again. He couldn't repair it the 2nd time, said he would buy it back. I haven't heard from him in the 4 days. He does not return my phone calls. I don't have a car or the $. Is there cause for me to report this to the police? Thank you for your reply

Yes, I would make a police report. Also, if you paid by check, try to stop payment on the check or ask your bank to give you the forms to file a fraud report.
