Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

My children attend a co-op where I have been asked to bring snacks periodically, however the co-op recently sent out a flyer telling all parents that a child there has peanut allergies so we are not allowed to bring items with nuts or items that could have been exposed to nuts. If I accidentally bring in food with nut residue from the factory or from our home..we eat peanuts and peanut butter all the time...could I be liable for that child if they have a reaction? I'm starting to think that we will no longer bring food to the co-op now that we have been warned about the severe allergy. Is this a good idea?

Thank you for your time.

Seems like an excessive reaction to this issue. The co-op may get sued, but not likely you. How could they prove who had the peanut dust? I would just follow their request and avoid bringing in peanuts. www.kliszlaw.com
