Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Contract Termination

Due to many unfortunate cirumstances, a project my company was hired to complete has run past the estimated completion date, (very common), but the customer is upset and wants to terminate the contract. He feels I should also return the deposit he put down. I have labor and expenses that exceed this amount, and I don't feel I owe him at all. In your opinion, how would this hold up in court if it is taken to that level?

Re: Contract Termination

It all depends on the language of the contract. Assuming the terms regarding completion, breach, refunds, etc are dealt with, I would start there. If there are ambiguities, then it would be a fact specific claim which would require more information. Please contact me a www.kliszlaw.com for more info and to set up a free phone consultation where I could gather more info. Tim Klisz
