Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
credit card fraud and fraud by deception
In was in a relationship with a woman . At the beginning she informed me of her serious financial problems caused by her now ex-husband, tax problems and an arson fire which destroyed her business. She was rebuilding her business from her new residence. That property was in her mother's name as are the two mortgages on it ostensibly because of the divorce and credit problems.I provided her with $86000 she had and about another $35,000to help meet her living expenses. This lasted for about 10 months. In 8/06 she informed me that she had used one of my credit cards to make an on-line purchase. I had never given her access or permission to use any of them. She made it sound like it had happened only onceHowever when I checked my transactions I found 3 in the short time frame she referred to. She was told never to do it again. 2 weeks later I was denied access to my account when I was making an on-line payment. I learned she had made another 15 transactions and had been making them before she told me.I have filed a police report.I've now learned that she had filed bankruptcy in '00 but not told me about about it.Do a have civil claim for fraud by deception as well as one for the credit card fraud?

Re: credit card fraud and fraud by deception
Yes- you have a civil claim; as well as a claim for criminal restitution. You can pursue both. Call us at your convenience. These matters can be handled on a "contingency" basis.
