Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Debt collection

We received a letter from an attorney dated 2/18/09, stating that we had 30 days to respond. We responded on 3/18/09, his office was closed, but we left a message and they called back and left us a message on the 19th. On 3/22/09 we were served with a summons & complaint. These documents were dated PRIOR to the 30 day perior mentioned in his letter. Is this legal for such documents to be dated PRIOR to our original ''grace'' time?

Re: Debt collection

This is not a defense to the lawsuit. He did not have to afford you any time, and could have filed suit at any time prior to the expiration of the statute of limitations. If you need assistance defending the suit, visit me at www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
