defimation of charactor

if a employers representastive ( supervisor) tell my girlfriend when she calls in for me to report that Im sick and they say (Are you sure he will be Ok to return tomorrow with his problems?) would that constititute defimation it that and other statments made my mamagement lead to a break up in the relationship ?

Why did it hurt your relationship? Does your girlfriend think that you are a slacker? This is not defamation. It is more like an opinion that you are lazy. Defamation is when someone states something that is really bad and absolutely not true, like you are a bank robber. William S. Stern
