Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Dog

I ran into some people who saw me walking my dog and said they had one like it. They asked me to dogsit while they went on a cruise. A couple months later they contacted me and said they had to get rid of the dog because they could not give the dog attention and they were having problems with their kids. I offered to ''foster'' the dog but they insisted they would NEVER want her back. We agreed I would pay $200 minus half the cost of the vet bill for getting her spayed. The vet bill was very close to $400 because she was not up on any shots which she had to have to get spayed. Now they say the costs incurred are not their problem and want to know when they can expect payment. Also they have shown up at my house unannounced. I don't like that. What are my rights?

Re: Dog

If you really want the dog, I would suggest you compromise with them. The amount in dispute is really not worth fighting over regardless of who is right and who is wrong. Take a look at the larger picture and long term effect and then decide what you want to do.
