Estimate for roof repair

I contacted a Lic. roofer for repair of my roof he gave me the lowest est by $2000.OO. Which I submitted to my insurance company. Sience receiving the check from the Insurance company I have tried numerous times over the past three months to contact him. Over ten times leaving messages on his answering machine twice contact his son requesting to talk about starting the job.

I have now contacted a different roofer and its is going to cost me $2000.00. What options do I have with the first roofer I.E. can I sue him for the the difference.

Based on the facts presented, you would have no claim for breach of contract ASSUMING that there was no written contract. If there was a contract, you may have an action based on your reliance on his bid.

Aside from filing a lawsuit, finding him to serve the papers, the time, expense and frustration, you might just want to contact you insurance carrier and tell them what happened. You might be surprised.
