Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

While my husband and I were planning our wedding our wedding party couldn't afford their dresses and tuxes at the time. So we came to the conclusion that we would purchase the attire on our credit cards until their 2012 tax refund came back. Then the money was going to be returned to us so we could pay back the credit cards. Now they are all refusing to pay. I have documentation of all spending I personally wrote down with dates as well as receipts stating their names and amounts they verbally agreed to pay back. Can I take any legal action?

Sure you can sue them. An oral contract is enforceable in these situations. However, I would not advise it. The damage to your relationships will far exceed the value of the money. Use it as a lesson.

It would be a very tough case to prove without a signed agreement.
