Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Jurisdiction

I've been served a summons/complaint and it was filed in a different county than where I reside. Doesn't the Plantiff have to file in the district court where I reside in? If so, on what grounds can I have this dismissed?

Re: Jurisdiction

There is a big difference between jurisdiction and venue. You are mixing up the two. I would have to know the facts of your case to tell you whether venue is proper. If it is improper, the case continues. They simply switch courts. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
