Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
Lawsuit
I was a treasurer for four years of a dance studios non profit group. This past summer the group disbanded and all accounts were closed. Since then some of the other board members are saying that I owe around 750 dollars in NSF bank fees and 250 in transactions that happened on the account not pertaining to the non profit group. They went to a pantent lawyer and had him send me a certified letter stating that I needed to clear up this matter in 15 days or he would file a lawsuit on behalf of the non profit group. I have tried to call this lawyer and left several messages, I have yet to hear from him. I am not sure what I should do especially since there is no longer a non profit group.

Re: Lawsuit
If you owe the money you can pay it or wait until a lawsuit is filed and litigate it in court.
