Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
Legal Advice
I received a letter in the mail from my neighbors attorny regarding an incident that happened 6 months ago and my neigbor wants money for ''property damage''. After a wind storm, a tree fell from my property onto my neighbors shed. I heard of the incident after I came home from work that night. I went and looked into the neighbors yard and I didn't see any tree or damage. My neighbor didn't approach me untill a month later and at that time asked me for money for the ''damage'', he never gave me a written estimate or let me look at his shed.
Please advise me of my rights.

Re: Legal Advice
You should immediately contact your homewoners insurance and let them handle the defense. That is the reason that you have the insurance. If the claim is without merit, their lawyers will know how to handle it. Bill Stern
