Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Do I have any legal recourse

I gave a person a $200 check with for Dakota truck written in the memo. The person cashed the check but when I went to pay the balance of $250 today he said he doesnt want to sell it and wants to just give me my $200 back. The truck is worth about 2500.00 and the person needed money right away to pay rent when I gave him the check.
