Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

I lent an ex-boyfriend over $25,000. He signed a promissory note that I obtained online, saying he would repay the loan by a certain date, which has come and gone. How do I go about suing him for repayment?

Go to your local court in the district in which he signed the agreement. Ask the civil clerk for a summons and complaint form, pay a filing and service fee; attach a copy of the promissory to the complaint and the court's officer will serve your ex - assuming you know where he is. Don't serve the Complaint yourself!
