Mail Order Harassment
Last year I made a call to a national computer mail order company. I ordered a printer. I got into a big disagreement with the salesperson about a rebate coupon. I get the printer a national brand in the mail. The handle on the box has been broken. I open the box and sitting inside on top of the printer is 12 X 12 mailing label. Capital letters toxic with a skull and crossbones.
I called the company. They had all sorts of excuses. They said that it could not have been the guy I spoke with because the order was taken in one state and mailed out in another. We both knew what happened - this guy called his buddy in the shipping center and told him to send this asshole (me) a message. In the end they gave me a free computer.
A year goes by. That same printer I hook up to my mom's brand new computer. It was still in the box. I slip in the printer CD on the screen pops An icon - ''Nightmare Over Yet? Str print''
This is crazy. This can't be acceptable. It cannot be legal. It is creepy. What can I do about it?

If I follow, the printer was never used, so it's not a continuing annoyance (i.e. a pattern of harassment), it's one set of annoyances (really bad service) because it all happened last year.
Ok, so I would definitely write a letter to the company with copies of the evidence you have and have them discipline the employees involved. They should have this on a tracking document (at least the times things were sent out so they could identify who had access to your package), and then I would notify the better business bureau.
I don't think you've been threatened with physical harm and there doesn't seem to be a pattern...the printer works fine, so I'm not sure you'd have a legal case. But I would go to the top of the compay and let them know what happened. Call the corporate offices and nicely ask who it is ( a VP will do). Then send the letter certified to make sure s/he got it. Demand a response and an apology.
