making a police statement

my girlfriend made a police report because i kicked her door in cuz i was locked out, but now doesnt want to press any charges. will i still have to give the police my statement?

You don't HAVE TO say anything to the police and you should not. Your girlfriend's change of mind doesn't give you a way out.

Don't give a statement because you have the right to remain silent. However, they can still prosecute you on the basis of other evidence. William S. Stern
