Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
Marijuana possesion, then an mip
About two years ago I was charged with possession of marijuana. It was my first offense ever, I was not driving, and it was a small amount. I was sentenced a years probation, and they took my license away for 6 months. Recently, I received an MIP and am about to go in front of the same judge. He gives a 200 dollar fine for first time offenses and no probation. I got some legal advice that said they are unrelated offenses and it will only be the fine. Is this true? Should I plead guilty or not guilty

Too bad you didn't have a lawyer at your possession plea because you now have a record.
You need one (even a court- appointed) lawyer this time or else these two charges will stay on your record permanently.
You can't go to jail because there is no jail time for first offense MIP, but there is a probability of probation. But, that's not the point.
At your age you cannot afford to have two crimes on your record for the rest of your life, unless you plan on being unemployed.
Don't be stupid. Ask for a court appointed lawyer. It's not that costly.
Plead NOT guilty.
