Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
neighbor dispute
I have lived in my home for 4 years and the neighbor has always been real messy about his garbage. They just pile it on the side of their house and it always ended up on my property. Prior to about 2 years ago I would just pick it up and put it in their trash cans but have since been told to stay off their property so I resorted to complaining to the City where I live to see if they would inspire these people to keep the trash picked up. Unfortunately, no such luck. I made about 10 complaints over the past 2 years only to be old that these people can co whatever they want and I should stop harrassing them with my complaints. They couple have recently divorced and there has been an insinuation that I caused their maritial problems with my complaints and that it's my fault they got a divorce. I was told that when the wife left, she turned on all the water faucts and flooded the house and the husband wanted to collect from the insurance which I don't think happeded. These people are ''sue'' crazy. Can they sue me?

Re: neighbor dispute
Well, anyone crazy enough can sue, but the short answer is no. No one could win this. Relax.
Re: neighbor dispute
Yes, they can sue, but their case would get dismissed as there is no cause of action in Michigan for your alleged contributing to their marital problems - which I'm sure you didn't.
If they do sue you, call me and I'll defend you - and then go after them for costs/fees for filing a frivolous lawsuit.
nothing to worry about!
thanks
