Pleading - Answering or Not

What happens if a pleading is not responded to within the time limits and what court rule (mcr) is it? Thanks in advance. Diane

Re: Pleading - Answering or Not

it depends on what kind of pleading you are talking about. if you do not answer a complaint, then the plaintiff can seek a default, and then a default judgment. if you are talking about a motion, then you lose your right to have the judge consider your response, and possibly not being able to present your position at argument.
