Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
Poligimy and marriage/divorce
In both civil and criminal court;
If a man is seeing a woman that is still married and not considered legally divorced, what actions can the husband take against the wifes lover? There are 2 two children involved and both under 18 years. Would this be considered breaking a family unit? What kind of fines/charges or jail time might be involved? This is in the metro-Detroit area, Michigan. Thanks,

Re: Poligimy and marriage/divorce
Alienation of affection cases were banned from the law books in 1957. There is not much you can do legally. In a divorce action, you may gain an advantage regarding property resolution if the judge feels the break-up is her fault. Also, you can almost undoubtedly prevent overnight visitation by the boyfriend in the presence of the kids. See a lawyer. William S. Stern 248-353-9400
