Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

question about contacting somebody after law settlement

Hello-

Would I be putting myself at risk if I was to send an apology letter to somebody? Many years ago I caused an automobile accident with another individual, and there was a lawsuit against my insurance company due to a personal injury. Would it be considered stalking if I sent an apology letter/email to the other person involved? Is it more/less of a risk if I send an email vs. postal mail?

Thank you for your response

Re: question about contacting somebody after law settlement

If the lawsuit is ongoing, definitely DO NOT send a letter or have any contact with the injured party.

If the suit is over, it's still a bad idea. Make a donation to your favorite charity instead.

Remeber the 9th step is to make amends except when to do so would harm your self or others.
