Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
Have a question. I'm in the sports business and in April, I contracted a company to help me PR and also to help me locate and secure sponsorship. We settled on an amount and later, signed our agreement and I sent a copy to them that I signed. All exchanges we have had a far as services that were to be expected, they have not done anything except throw together a "marketing deck" that they wanted to send to companies, businesses, etc. Long story short, they have stopped all contact with me when I told them for the $2,500 dollars I paid for them to represent me for the 12 months, I expected something better than the proposal I was given. They won't return phone calls, emails, etc. What steps would I have to take in order to recoup my money. I paid a few through paypal and the other transaction was via wire transfer. I feel like I have been scammed and wondering how I would try to recover my money.

You can file in small claims court for up to $3500 in Michigan and handle it yourself. File the suit, get the court date, get the defendant served and show up at court. Tim Klisz
