Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

I recently participated in a yoga teacher training program that did not advertise that it would be held in a heated room. I told the instructor the first night that I had problems with practicing in the heat and she told me I could practice or sit out. The first night I did alright, however the heat increased as the weeks went on, and it was too late to withdrawal and receive a refund when after a third time of telling her I was getting sick from the heat (and her telling me I could practice or sit out) I attempted to practice in a room that had increased the heat even further. I know now that I was suffering from heat exhaustion every class. It finally got so bad I was showing early signs of heat stroke. I withdrew from the program at the advice of three doctors: a medical physical, acupuncturist, and doctor of natural medicine; each of whom told me returning to class would be very dangerous, and that due to the accumulation of heat sensitivity I had developed I should refrain from any rigorous activity. 5 days after the class my blood pressure was still extremely low and I initiated the withdrawal in week 5 of 8 of the program having sat out week 5, with a doctors note excusing me from the program. I requested tuition reimbursement and was denied and told by her that the contract "was tight." It is my understanding that given the life threatening health issues that are affected by heat she should have been required to list that the program would be taught in a heated room. I am aware that I am heat sensitive and would not have applied to participate in that program. Are there any laws or avenues thru which I can legally request a refund? I know I can go to small claims court but as I have to commute quite a distance to do so, I am hoping to make sure I am very prepared if I have to go that route.
