Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Being Represented

Does an entity (Corporation or Limited Liability Company) have to be represented by a lawyer in a general civil case that is heard by a district or circuit court? In a previous answer it was indicated that an entity must have legal representation. However, this seems to conflict with my knowledge of having the right to represent yourself in the court of law. Please clarify this confusion.
