What are my rights in a verbal contract?

I entered in a verbal contract with a man I was dating. I bought him a car (the title is in my name) and he was supposed to make payments. We broke up right afterwards and he began making harrassing phone calls and threats that he wouldn't pay for the car if I didn't talk to him. I would either like the total amount he owes for the car or he return the car to me, so I don't have to have any more contact with this person. What are my legal rights?
