being sued for car crash... they made false statements

I am being sued for 1/2 a million dollars for a VERY minor car accident. At the time of the accident, that was my FIRST accident and FIRST ticket (impeding traffic). I was on my way to lend first aid to a previous accident on the same road. I am currently waiting to be hired at my Sheriff's Office as a Corrections Deputy, and have been a Law Enforcement Explorer for 3 years being trained in first aid, cpr, and traffic crash response.

The court papers say ''record indicated that he had numerous citations, convictions, and suspensions for reckless, negligent driving and an indifference to the traffic laws.'' As I stated above this is COMPLETELY FALSE.

To add insult to me, the man's wife who was NOT in the car is also a plaintiff because ''the Plaintiff cannot be their for said wife in her time of need, as she must tend to the Plaintiff due to his injuries he suffered, furthermore the Plaintiff has undergone treatments for his injuries sustained and will require future like treatments''.

My rear driver side bumper was pushed in a little and his driver side front headlight was busted due to the crash. I was almost perpendicular to him when we crashed.

Any thoughts on the false statement?

Any thoughts on how to proceed?
