Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
Summons and Complaint
I Recently had a summons and complaint served to a business owner that owes me commissions (per our signed contract). The Court address was left off of the summons. I then re-sent a copy of the same summons with the court address and the person signed for the mail. All of my contact Information was included. Two questions:
1)Although I sent a second copy dose the defendant have an ''out'' because of the Missing address?
2) If the Defendant dose not respond within the required 28 days what is the next step?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Chuck

Re: Summons and Complaint
You're okay by leaving the address off the summons. Don't worry about it. However, you are not okay in dealing with this subject matter on your own without an attorney. Contact me for a referral if you are in the metro Detroit area. William S. Stern
