Wedding Ring

I purchased an engagement ring for my ex-fiance.

I would like to know can I sue her to give me

back the ring or pay me the value, or do I

have to take the lost?

It depends. If you gave her the ring in exchange for her promise to marry you, you may sue to recover the ring if she was the one who broke the engagement. If you were the one who backed out, she keeps the ring. If you gave her the ring as a gift and she didn't promise to marry, she keeps the ring.
