Re: how to protect my investments
This is exactly what I specialize in. I have been practicing Elder Law since the mid 80's. See my bio at www.tcfel.com in the attorney section.
Even though the Medicaid Nursing Home laws have drastically changed in July the laws do not effect married couples unless there has been gifting. I can boldly state even though Michigan has gone to a 5 year lookback, there are ways to protect 100% of all a married couples assets and qualify the ill spouse for Medicaid. The only consequence could be is some tax issues if there are ira's and 401k's.
We would be happy to discuss these issues with you. Please feel free to contact me and we will offer you a free 1 hour consult.
